Source Material Studio
is an independant research and publishing practice.

We look at images, text, archives, and objects, and publish what we find, in books, editions, and through creative projects and collaborations.

The practice began with the image, and images remain central to how we work. But source material, for us, extends further: to anything that shapes how creative work gets made.

We research. We archive. We publish.

Founded in 2024 by Laura Vent following a career spent working closely with images, at the Courtauld Institute of Art, then as a visual and cultural researcher at Wieden + Kennedy London, and through subsequent work with other studios and artists.

Source Material Studio is where that experience became its own practice: publishing books and editions and her own creative project alongside selective client collaborations.
