Source Material Studio
is a visual research studio and creative consultancy.

Our work traverses advertising, fashion, film, publishing and beyond. We operate at the intersection of celebration and critique; where pose questions as readily as they provide answers. Our expertise lies in crafting visual narratives that resonate in an era where images are both abundant and disposable. We collaborate with brands, creative businesses, cultural institutions and artists to develop their unique visual expression. We both source and create visual communications.

Founded in 2024 by Laura Vent, Source Material Studio is the latest expression of her life-long obsession with the image. It is the culmination of her journey from the Courtauld Institute of Art, through Wieden + Kennedy, back into academia, upwards, downwards, left and right again. Source Material Studio is her platform for cultivating projects within this space; where each image sourced or created contributes something meaningful to the context in which it rests. In an era of endless scroll and infinite reproduction, Source Material Studio is a bridge between past archives and future narratives.
