WOW (Ways of Working) is a celebration and critical reflection on the creative industries by students, alumni and staff from the Diploma in Professional Studies at London College of Communication. WOW is a space for critical engagement with the increasing possibilities and potential futures of creative practice, it’s role in culture as well as reflections on the realities of the world outside the academic context. We developed the concept for this innovative platform whilst in post at London College of Communication. Understanding the needs both of the creative industries and of those in study, I developed an ‘educational brand’ to allow a meaningful interface between industry and it’s next generation. This manifested in co-created print publications as well as an ‘Instagram conference’ entitled New Agency - a day of public dialogue featuring industry key notes and difficult but rewarding conversations between industry leaders and students.
